About Bams and Ted

Founded by sister duo, Claire Fuller and Rachel Tolosa Paz.

bams & ted is a roving dress-up box.

We source vintage clothing and hand-made and artisanal objects from across the globe to pair with our growing list of character collections. We take a character from a book, film or history and create an immersive set where everything is for sale.

We have created shops for Miranda from Picnic at Hanging Rock, Sebastian from Brideshead Revisited and Edward Scissorhands – to name a few. We have curated and styled parties surrounding the films of Wes Anderson – where every nook and cranny held a nod to his cinematic greats, right down to the food, drinks, music and a Life Aquatic burlesque performance.

Going online.

In 2020, bams & ted found a permanent home online where we hope to replicate our sumptuous shops on screen.

Why Shop Vintage?

You don’t have to be one of those girls or boys who dresses 100% head-to-toe in period dress to appreciate vintage clothing. Here are some of the reasons we like to shop second-hand:

Bams and Ted

Potential, potential, potential. It’s creative and unique! Wanna look like everybody else? Hell, no! Shop vintage and it's unlikely that any other doll will turn up in your garb.

Use your imagination. We dress to dream of stories, to imagine the histories and futures of our clothing and ourselves. Where have they been? Where are they going?

We are serious about looking after our planet. Where do all those fast fashion tops go to die? Landfill, that’s where. Buy second-hand and sleep better knowing you are breathing new life into a product that already exists.

Quality. Vintage clothing was made with love and well-constructed to last the test of time. And if it's a little bit broke, you can always fix it!

The accessible price point! Yay, for affordable clothing! Plus buying second-hand encourages a more circular economy.

Breathable, natural fabrics (ok, the 1970s not so much) but the rest, yes. We love sustainable fabrics like wool, cashmere, cotton & linen.

And lastly, mix it up! You wouldn’t necessarily dress head to toe in one brand so why top and tail vintage? Mix genres, prints and periods all in one outfit. Need inspiration? Check out @bamsandted on instagram.
